The latest improvements and fixes for the App Catalog

✨ New

Catalog Agent & Catalog App

v1.2.3

  • The update schedule settings configured by MDM are now visible in the Settings of the Catalog App

v1.2.2

  • By default, the update schedule will no longer run when connected to a Personal Hotspot or another network connection considered expensive. To overrule this setting and allow the update schedule to run on all networks, set the key AllowUpdatesContrainedNetworks to true. More information: Preference Keys - Catalog Agent

Documentation

  • Kandji: step-by-step are now available in our documentation to implement the App Catalog with Kandji: Kandji

  • Jamf Pro: an Extension Attribute is now available to read the date and time when the update schedule last ran: Jamf Pro

🛠 Fixed

General

  • Important: We updated the PPPC documentation as the CodeRequirements were incorrectly shown and did not grant the required permissions. Specifically parts of the string was shown as / exists / where is should be /* exists */. Please check your PPPC profile and update accordingly: Full Disk Access (PPPC)

  • We updated the Managed Login Item documentation as it was not clear enough how to auto-approve background items and could have prevented to enable the autonomous update schedule for macOS 13 and later. This is now improved and simplified: Managed Login Item

Catalog Agent & Catalog App

v1.2.3

  • An issue is resolved that caused the Catalog Agent to hang when no user was logged in

v1.2.2

  • Apps excluded from updates (check appcatalog.cloud) will no longer be shown in the Catalog App as an update. For example Microsoft apps as Microsoft AutoUpdate should be used and organizations may have different update settings applied, such as delayed updates.

  • Minor UI improvements
